Movie Award: HUNGRY

Saudi Arabia, 2024, 23 min. Directed by Ali Al Momen Reason: The story of Mohammed, which could be the story of many of us. A film that shows how food—especially fast food and hypersalted food—can become an obsession, to the point of causing real problems. The way out? A combination of fear and affection, with two women who bring him back on the right path with the firmness and smile of those who truly love him.

Reason: a film that uses evocative images and powerful words to tell the story of Rosa and her brother Tommaso, farmers and entrepreneurs who combine passion, sacrifice, and quality. Their life follows the rhythm of the seasons and the 650 sheep to which they devote almost every day of the year. A story that celebrates memory and, at the same time, invites reflection on the future.

Special Artistic Direction Award - Award named after Emanuele Prati: INHABITED SPACE AND THE MYSTERY OF WATER AND EARTH

Reason: Italian-Brazilian Neto Leão has created a work that combines earth, water, and fire, transforming them into poetry of memory, the main theme of the 2025 Festival. “This stuff, which today’s everyday experience perceives as obsolete, opens up a space where the miraculous palliatives of hypermodernity to the human condition can be judged for what they are and do. Between accepting them or suffering them, without too much celebration, there is always the possibility of dodging some of them, in the knowledge that a renunciation does not correspond to a loss,” reads the motivation.
